Tamilnadu Pwd Building Practice Standard Data Book
--- Periodically, new laws are enacted that affect the construction industry. To help your business comply with these changes, the Department of Housing and Welfare Building Disability Division has put together a practice data book of building standards for all construction projects in Tamilnadu State. This book conforms to the first phase of development of a national standard for building disability practices under National Building Code of India(NBCI), 1999. The purpose of this practice data book is to provide you with information about new standards on accessibility and impact on buildings from the NBCI Act 1999 coming into effect from 1st March 2017. A change will come into effect if any of the following is satisfied:
Under Construction: (All Information and Standards applicable to all categories of buildings and constructions except those of banks, banks' branches, offices of insurance companies, mutual fund companies & friendly societies etc. )
Minimum Requirements for Provisional Allotment : (Useful for all categories including those of Banks, Bank Branches, Insurance Companies, Mutual Funds and Friendly Societies.)
Minimum Requirements for Provisional Allotment : (Useful for residential & commercial complexes & multi-storey houses.)
Minimum Requirements for Provisional Allotment : (Useful under Planning Commissions).

Note: This data book contains the data set out in the code (N), which is not for immediate use but for future reference. The nomenclature and terminology of various provisions contained in the Code itself may require changes for better understanding by persons concerned; also certain portions of the Code get deleted or modified with time to meet new situations and circumstances occurring thereafter. Hence, the law governing the construction of buildings is given in this book for quick reference. The legal provisions that may have been added or deleted from time to time or may be amended from time to time are given at the end of this book. In addition, annotations and remarks have been made during compilation of this data book. We hope that all concerned will make good use of it and improve the construction work in Tamilnadu State.
